Meet the team

Holywell Leisure Centre is the home for 25 employee’s. The team all have exceptional customer service skills and many years leisure industry experience between them. Here’s a quick introduction to the management team:

Chris Travers

Leisure Centre Manager

Chris has been the Leisure Centre manager for 23 years having previously worked in the industry across Flintshire. Chris lives and breathes all aspects of the leisure industry and is a keen Squash and Badminton player. Chris played a key role in the successful transfer of our Community Leisure Centre (2017) from the County to the not-for-profit charity it is today and he continues to work with the Board of Trustees to ensure the ongoing success of the enterprise.

Ben Welsh

Operations Officer

Ben has worked at the Centre for the last 23 years. His career in the Sport and Leisure industries has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. Ben is also responsible for the delivery of lifeguard, first aid and health and safety training. His passions in life are family, football and the long term continued success of Holywell Leisure Centre.

James Kerrigan

Operations Officer

James has worked in the Sport and Leisure industry for the last 12 years and is perfectly placed to help develop the Leisure Centre not-for-profit charitable business at this time of tremendous change. He enjoys the challenge of management and is involved in devising new activity programmes. James enjoys his motorcycling as a pastime.

Jill Travers

Systems and Administration Officer

Jill has worked in finance throughout her career and instigated the new booking, finance and online bookings procedures so vital for the efficiency of the Holywell Leisure Centre Community Charity. Jill has a key role in customer care. No doubt anything to do with customer enquiries and bookings you’ll be discussing with Jill.
